Congress has been having trouble finishing their appropriations bills this year, including some very important ones. So far in fact, they have only gotten the Defense Appropriations bill signed by the President, leaving all the rest undone. One of the bills not completed is the Military Construction/Veterans Appropriations bill. The bill that funds all the programs for our veterans, including veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and all the new construction that the military needs to do their jobs.
Now I don't know about you, but that bill seems like the most important bill yet to be completed. Followed closely by the other bills to fund the rest of the government, as that is one of the primary jobs of Congress. But Ken Salazar disagrees!!!!
For him, the most important bills are the Farm Bill and the Energy Bill. Don't take my word for it though, he wrote it himself.

"My two highest priorities are the farm bill and the energy bill. Those are the two most important bills for Colorado and for our country, in my view."
Those 2 bills are the highest priority??? So now we know where Ken rates our military and veterans! The appropriation bills are supposed to be completed by Sep 30th. They are not done yet, but apparently Kenny Boy thinks that is just dandy with him, as long as we pass the energy bill that the environmentalists love so much. Maybe someone should clue in our men and women who are now and have in the past worn the uniform of what priority Ken Salazar gives to them!!
